Dial8's AI learns about you over time through an extensive personalization system. The more it knows, the more useful its responses become.

Profile Training

On first use (or anytime from Settings), you can run a profile training conversation. The AI asks you questions one at a time to learn about:

• Your preferred name and what to call the AI
• Your role and current work context
• Communication style preferences
• Decision-making style
• What makes you feel truly understood

The AI saves your answers silently as you talk — no confirmation dialogs or interruptions.

What the AI Learns

Communication Preferences

• Style — How you like to be communicated with
• Response length — Brief vs. detailed
• Formality level — Casual vs. professional
• Explanation depth — High-level vs. detailed breakdowns
• Confirmation preference — When to ask vs. when to act

Personal Context

• Timezone and working hours
• Current projects and focus areas
• Short-term and long-term goals
• Areas of interest

Behavioral Guardrails

You can set explicit rules for the AI:

• Working rules — Hard rules like "always ask for dates" or "never assume timing"
• Mistakes to avoid — Past errors the AI should not repeat
• Clarify before acting — Topics that always require confirmation
• Trust levels — Per-domain trust (e.g., "act then confirm" for actions, "confirm first" for goals)
• Pet peeves — Stylistic preferences to respect

Expertise & Energy

• Areas of expertise (so the AI doesn't over-explain)
• Learning areas (where more detail is helpful)
• Productive times of day
• How you handle overwhelm

How It's Used

Your profile is injected into every AI conversation as context. This means:

• The AI addresses you by your preferred name
• Responses match your communication style
• Suggestions respect your working rules
• The AI adapts its level of detail to your expertise

Editing Your Profile

Go to Settings > Profile to view and edit any aspect of your personalization. Changes are synced via your account and take effect immediately in all AI interactions.
