Microphone Not Working

Troubleshoot microphone access issues with Dial8.

If Dial8 can't access your microphone, follow these steps.

Check Permissions

  1. Open System Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone
  2. Ensure Dial8 is listed and enabled
  3. If not listed, restart the app and grant permission when prompted

Common Fixes

  • Restart Dial8 — Quit the app completely and relaunch it
  • Check input device — Make sure your desired microphone is selected as the input device in System Settings > Sound
  • Test the microphone — Use another app (like Voice Memos) to verify your microphone is working

If you recently updated macOS, you may need to re-grant microphone permissions.
