Microphone Not Working
Troubleshoot microphone access issues with Dial8.
If Dial8 can't access your microphone, follow these steps.
Check Permissions
- Open System Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone
- Ensure Dial8 is listed and enabled
- If not listed, restart the app and grant permission when prompted
Common Fixes
- Restart Dial8 — Quit the app completely and relaunch it
- Check input device — Make sure your desired microphone is selected as the input device in System Settings > Sound
- Test the microphone — Use another app (like Voice Memos) to verify your microphone is working
If you recently updated macOS, you may need to re-grant microphone permissions.
