Text Not Inserting
Troubleshoot issues with transcribed text not appearing in applications.
If transcribed text isn't appearing in your applications, the issue is likely related to accessibility permissions.
Check Permissions
- Open System Settings > Privacy & Security > Accessibility
- Ensure Dial8 is listed and enabled
- If listed but not working, try toggling it off and on again
Application-Specific Issues
Some applications may require additional permissions or have restrictions on automated text input:
- Browsers — Some web-based editors may not accept programmatic text input
- Sandboxed apps — Certain App Store apps may have stricter security requirements
- Terminal — Terminal apps generally work well with Dial8
If toggling the Accessibility permission doesn't help, try removing Dial8 from the list and re-adding it by dragging the app from your Applications folder.
